POSITION: Arts & Communications Foundation Instructor 

LOCATION: Fairfield High School

PROGRAM:

The arts and communications foundation program provides students the opportunity to gain introductory skills in the following area: conceptual design, typography, layout, color theory, illustration, composition, logo design, editing, digital photography, digital image editing and other related areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensure Area: Art/License Type: MA/License code: 12.0050 Certification codes and areas: 02.0012 visual arts K-12; 02.0015 visual arts 7-12; 10.0701 graphic arts; 17.0700 commercial arts
  • Appropriate technical/artistic experience preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Position: Biotechnology Instructor 

Location: Talawanda High School

PROGRAM Description:

Biotechnology is a two-year tech prep instructional program designed to teach the principles and theories of science and measurement to solve problems in scientific research to help improve products and processes in industry. Students will gain the necessary skills to practice lab safety, properly measure chemicals, conduct basic level experiments, and utilize databases and spreadsheets for documentation of findings. As a tech prep program, students will have the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school and participate in college campus activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education in High School Comprehensive Science or Chemistry

  • Willingness to participate in tech prep activities at the secondary and post-secondary levels

  • Knowledge of science laboratory operations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness/ability to work with students and as a team member
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer database/spreadsheet experience
  • State-issued driverís license or State issued I.D. card with photo

  • Masterís Degree
  • Five years successful education and/or business experience
  • Prefer certification/licensure in counseling, vocational evaluation, work and family life, or career based intervention
  • Proven ability to develop positive working relationships with administration, teachers, parents, businesses, students K- 12, and higher education

Position: Engineering Design Instructor

Satellite Location: Ross High School

Program Description:

Engineering Design prepares students for careers in a variety of engineering design professions as well as provides options to advance educational opportunities on the college level. The Engineering Design Tech Prep program offers advanced training in computer-aided design and manufacturing. Students apply technical knowledge and skills to plan and prepare computerized interpretations of plans and design concepts for mechanical devices and machinery. Through classroom and lab experiences students acquire skills in the areas of: autoCAD; mechanical and architectural drafting; design projects; 3D modeling; solid modeling; hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics; CNC programming; teamwork; and time management.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement an engineering design curriculum with students
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas required: architect, designer, detailer, drafter, engineer producing drawings
  • Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education
  • Willingness/ability to work with students and as a team member
  • Good organizational skills
  • Computer expertise appropriate to the position

Position: Interactive Media Instructor

Satellite Location: Talawanda High School

Program Description:

Interactive Media is an introductory level program for 9th and 10th grade students covering the creation, design, and production of interactive multi-media products and services. This program of study emphasizes the development of digitally-generated or computer-enhanced media.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to implement an interactive media curriculum with students
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas required: business education, information technology, commercial art or entertainment marketing
  • Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education
  • Willingness/ability to work with students and as a team member
  • Good organizational skills

Position: Marketing Education Instructor

Satellite Location: Edgewood High School

Program Description:

Marketing education is designed to prepare students for careers in marketing, sales and distribution. Students will participate in learning experiences related to performing activities that direct the flow of goods and services, including their appropriate utilization from the producer to the consumer. Through classroom and lab experiences students acquire knowledge and skills in the areas of: sales, sales-supporting functions such as buying, transporting, storing, promoting, pricing, purchasing, selling, and financing; marketing research and communications; and risk management.

  • Ability to implement a marketing education curriculum with students
  • Minimum of one year related employment
  • Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education
