DRLCTC students qualify for nation competition

Three students from D. Russel Lee Career~Technology Center will compete at the SkillsUSA-VICA National Competition to be held June 27 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Tech Prep Showcase Information Tech team of Aaron Brongersma (Madison), David Pfirrman (Fairfield), and Brady Smith (Madison) qualified for the competition by placing first at the state level.

Other state winners for the SkillsUSA-VICA State Competition included the teams of Brandon Montgomery (Monroe) and Ron Wisner (Fairfield), 2nd place in Promotional Bulletin Board and Luis Sanchez (Fairfield), Chris Stout (Lakota), and Matt Whitson (Lakota), 3rd place in Tech Prep Showcase-Automotive Technology. Dan VanWinkle (Middletown) took 2nd place in Computer Maintenance.

SkillsUSA-VICA is a national organization serving nearly 250,000 high school and college students and professional members who are enrolled in training programs in technical, skilled, and service occupations, including health occupations.
